Ryan grew up in New Berlin, Wisconsin as part of a small family with Midwestern values and a strong work ethic. Today, he’s a volunteer with ScholarShot, which helps at-risk students complete life-changing vocational, associate or undergraduate degrees that are the tipping point to be sure these great kids exit poverty and meet their potential.

He enjoys the outdoors, including camping, hiking and rock climbing. He believes that “To Travel is To Live,” as Hans Christian Andersen once said, and his favorite destinations include Spain, Costa Rica, Italy, San Diego, Denver, New York City, Zion National Park and Acadia National Park.

His favorite movies are 12 Angry Men, One Flex Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, American Beauty, The Sting and American History. Favorite books include The Obstacle Is The Way, 1984, The Real Estate Game, and anything written by Michael Lewis.
